Google has announced a major Search Console update that expands SEO beyond websites.

You can now add your **Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), and YouTube** accounts as Platform Properties in Google Search Console to see how your content performs in Google Search, Discover, and News (where applicable). The feature is rolling out gradually over the coming weeks.

# What's New?

Instead of only tracking website pages, Search Console can now show:

* Search queries that lead users to your social posts
* Impressions, clicks, CTR, and average position
* Which videos/posts get discovered through Google Search
* Performance trends over time
* Visibility in Google Discover and News (if eligible)

# Supported Platforms

* Instagram
* TikTok
* X (Twitter)
* YouTube

# Why This Matters for SEO

For years, SEO teams had to rely on native platform analytics, which only showed performance *inside* each platform.

Now you'll also know:

* Which Google searches are driving people to your social content.
* Which topics Google associates with your videos and posts.
* Which content is earning visibility directly from Google Search.

This makes social media a measurable part of your overall search strategy instead of a separate marketing channel.

# Important Note

This doesn't replace Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or X analytics**.**

It only measures how your content performs on **Google Search**, not engagement within those platforms.

# My Take

This is one of the biggest Search Console updates in years.

SEO is no longer limited to websites. Google is clearly recognizing that users discover information across multiple content formats, and now we finally have a way to measure that visibility from a single dashboard.

If you're a creator, brand, or SEO professional, I'd start treating social content as part of your search strategy—not just your social strategy.
