For the love of God, help.
Breed: 100% American Foxhound
My little dude is 5 months old. We live in an apartment, so before he was 100% Parvo vaxxed, we had to train him on the pads. Since being fully vaxxed, we have been trying to potty train him outside.
When I say it’s been living hell trying to potty train him, it’s an understatement. We’ve been trying for a month and some change, and he’s just not getting it. We’ve made 0 progress. We took away the pads, take him out on a strict schedule, and reward with lots of treats and praise. He will hold his poop for days, and find the extremely small window of time we’re not paying attention and poop in the house. He will pee outside just fine, but cannot get the hint that we do not want him to pee inside and will do it at random times, and even RIGHT after he comes inside. I can count on one hand in the last 1 and a half months he’s pooped outside, and it’s always after waiting 3 days to go. During these three days, he requires constant supervision to not poop in the house, and after failed attempts, we put him in the cage for 20-30 minutes and take him out again. Just constant walking him every 20-30 minutes and I am running low on patience.
Someone please help because I’m losing my mind
