Does anybody else wonder the show has such a high rating on IMDb (7.7)?

To me it seems so mind-numbingly stupid. And by that I mean the writing - so many things seem so unbelievable, characters so incredibly shallow. In contrast to what followed the first 10 minutes seemed like it was a start of great series, a refreshing twist in the zombie genre, but it went downhill very quick with that guy arguing for being in zombie state, not accepting it just as an illness while believing that there's some kind of conspiracy. Cringeworthy bits then continue constantly. Like the fact that majority of people act as nazis towards medicated PDS people, there's no explanation given for their implausible behavior, they just fucking hate them. That priest seems to be their Hitler, you'd think a priest would be more mild tempered - instead half the time he's barking like an animal and when he's not he's manipulating impressionable kids into his village Hitler Jugend (sending son to spy on mom, when discovered he makes an excuse that he was looking at port on her laptop, how fricking ridiculous that? The mom is well-meaning but is total imbecile so one wonders how government let her do that job). Then there's the sister, who displays unwavering hate towards her brother and the brother just swallows it, without any fuss, as if her behavior was perfectly normal. His parent's also seem to be fine with forcing the son to pretend eat the dinner. One fishy scene followed by another fishier. Imo it's one of more retarded shows I've seen this year, and I've forced myself to watch it only because and I still don't understand why it has a ratings of 7.7. Thoughts?
