π Build Things
Reading alone isn't enough.
After learning a concept:
- Build a small project.
- Read production postmortems.
- Contribute to open source.
- Recreate systems you use daily.
- Write about what you learn.
- Review source code of popular open-source projects.
The fastest growth usually comes from the cycle:
Read β Build β Fail β Debug β Repeat
In my experience, this is far more effective than completing dozens of courses without shipping anything.
What are your favorite resources for staying updated? I'd love to discover more engineering blogs, conferences, newsletters, and communities.
