PSA: Your insurance company can use AI to review your claim in 2026, but they can't use it to DENY you.
Just a heads-up for anyone filing a claim this month: Florida HB 527 is now in effect. It basically says that while insurance companies can use AI/algorithms to "assist" with your claim, they cannot use AI as the sole reason to deny you or reduce your payment.
If you get a denial letter that looks like it was auto-generated by a bot, look for the name of the "Human Reviewer." By law, a human has to sign off on that decision now.
I saw a great breakdown of this on the Insurance Wars YouTube channel recently. The team at Noble Public Adjusting Group was explaining that if you can't find a human's name on that denial, you might have grounds to challenge it immediately. Documentation is everything right now. Stay safe out there!
