How Should You Invoice Client Travel Expenses?

Hi everyone,

I'm preparing a proposal for a project that will require me to travel to the client's location for several days. We've already agreed that they'll cover the travel-related costs, but I'm unsure how these expenses should appear on my invoice.

Should I list items like transportation, accommodation, and meals as separate reimbursable expenses, or should I simply include them as part of my overall service fee?

I'm also wondering whether it's standard practice to provide copies of receipts when requesting reimbursement, or if an itemized invoice is usually enough.

For those who regularly invoice clients for travel expenses, how do you structure it? Any tips on keeping the invoice clear and professional would be greatly appreciated.
