KYR DEAD ON ARRIVAL: How would I book the End of Undertaker's streak. (And It's aftermath)
Opinions differ on this one... EIther that streak shouldnt have been broken, or if it had to, then WWE shouldnt have given this ooprtunity to Lesnar instead they should give it to someone that could use such an accolade.. yaddi Yadda Yadda. Not only WWE went with this by choosing Lesnar to do so, nothing much more interesting came out of it rather than Paul Heyman yapping about it day after day. (Even if he had Cesaro as his client, ruining his chances) So let's see if we could salvage this in more fun way shall we?
===================================================================
If streak has to end on Wrestlemania XXX, Im making two switches.
- Lesnar wins the first Andre the Giant Inagural Battle Royal (Which with Paul Heyman as his mouthpiece they'd make that seem way more special than it is now)
And for the one whom conquers Undertaker's streak, It's gonna be *Drum rolls* Dolph Ziggler
How would that even turn up to this point?
Ziggler at that time was the Underdog: doesnt win a lot but he's over with the fans. a Man whom once held a World title and was never the same since he lost. He wants to prove to the fans that he can get the big win, to show the World that their belief in him is earned earnestly. But Lady luck doesnt look kindly on him as he keeps loosing where it counts. To the point that at one episode, he calls out the Undertaker in a fiery promo, which to the fans and to the commentary, sounds... desperate. There's silence, as fans and commentary doubt that Undertaker will answer. GONG
On the Titantron, you see this message
MANY TRIED, MANY REST IN PEACE. HISTORY WILL REPEAT ITSELF
Undertaker accepts the challenge. Dolph Ziggler is happy and starts training like crazy, cause in backstage segments or even interviews, Dolph, despite courage in his voice he acts like this is all or nothing to him (SImilar shades to Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker rivalry during the road to Wrestlemania 27). SOme similar tones ring out too as Ziggler puts his career on the line vs Undertaker's streak. Cause like Ziggler says on a Go home show segment before Wrestlemania XXX "If I cant beat you, Undertaker. I've been wasting my career anyway"
Wrestlemania XXX. Ziggler vs Taker. Career vs Streak. Ziggler tries his hardest. The Conflict of fighting against the inevitable is the story throughout the match. At least so we would think..
The Hell freezes over. Ziggler wins. And instead of cheers, there's silence. Which turns into boos. Ziggler is confused, they were supposed to cheer, not this.. He tries to block his earsfrom hearing but he cant and runs off.
From Raw after Wrestlemania to forward, we see Now Heel Ziggler with new rejuvenated vigor and attitude. Why not? Kayfabe wise he beat someone considered unbeatable
"Im here to show the world. Not my fault I deliver on my promises"
ZIggler goes on a Monster run like it's 2011, Wins after wins, He wins the tournament that was held to determine the new World Heavyweight champion after Daniel Bryan had to relinquish, beating fan favourites at the time. Ziggler doesnt give a damn.
As he wins a title, things start to get weird....
In coming weeks, we see Dolph getting disaasociated with the world as if he was hearing voices, seeing people that wasnt there, which almost causes him to lose a match at the time but he manages to get the job done. But that gets him rattled.
The Person whom gives an answer to why that's happening is... Bray Wyatt, whom tells him that he didnt just beat Undertaker, he inherited his legacy and powers (the good and the bad). He offers that he could teach him how to use it properly (But that apprenticeship would turn into a feud later on, because Bray's plan all along was to use Dolph and discard him because that power should have been Brays to begin with)
But Even DOlph would get tired and overwhelmed of the power and it's hold it has on him, which would lead to a feud with Kane (Ziggler finds that in order to release himself from the curse he has to beat Kane) Which that feud with some back and forth would culminate in an Inferno match on a ppv.
Pros of this idea:
- Makes Undertaker's Legacy even more memorable
- Gives Ziggler some Main Eventer time once more
- Gives Bray Wyatt some relevance after that fiasco of John Cena feud.
Cons of this idea:
- Some people would sneer at the thought of making Undertaker less a character and more of a Mantle. (But that way it would give a chance for undertaker to retire from in ring character and more on screen persona manager to whoever became "The Undertaker" later)
Here's how I would do it
