Wow, the guy who keeps making those "New Chapter Available Now" posts can draw!

The first illustration... I'm tabling at a convention this weekend, and I would have been devastated if I couldn't have at least one Kaihen thing at my booth. So I really scrambled to get it done. You can get a textless version of it on [INPRNT](https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/arsquare/kai-hen-wizards-1/)! I added text on the version for the con, because I wanted people to be able to look it up when they get home if they decide to buy one.

Second picture I drew shortly after the first chapter dropped. I got really attached to his ponytail but at least I knew it was going to get cut off. I didn't expect it to be as soon as chapter 2 though...

Third picture I drew before the series started running, so I didn't know about Zemu's avatars at the time. All I could think when his design dropped was, christ, how much time does that character spend setting their hair up for the day? (Answer: maybe a couple of seconds)

Fourth picture is self-explanatory. Right -> left

Fifth picture I drew for May Day, obviously. Incidentally, I think the prince's staff is going to be a sickle. It's like a smaller scythe, which really suits him since it looks like he'll become Zemu's disciple after all. He's not very confrontational to start with, and sickles are meant for farming and agriculture, like the scythe and the axe that Zemu and Youzen have. Maybe he'll even get two sickles. I mean, he's got two divine eyes anyways, right? Gee, how come your dad let you have TWO divine eyes?

The next two are a gifts for a friend for Tanabemas (Yellow Tanabe fanworks event), where I swapped characters from Kaihen and Kekkaishi (Tanabe's most well-known series). You can definitely see how Kaihen's further exploring ideas she just barely touched on in Kekkaishi, most notably the idea of the nuclear bomb child. What if he had agency? That's what Kaihen feels like.

The last one was a drawing I started doing when I read the line, "What do you want from me?" I thought it was a devastating line, where the prince KNOWS he's getting played by Zemu, but wants to go outside too badly that he still feels compelled to play along. But I think I've let it cool down on the backburner too long. I tried going back to it but I couldn't do it after all. oh well! Sometimes things are unfinished and that's just how it has to be.

Thanks for reading, really happy to have something for this series at the con.
