A computer that doesn't care about my feelings

A few years back, I told the assistant building the reader to keep converting it to safer code and not stop until it was done. When I came back and asked for a status, the report came back dressed in soft language, so I said what I actually meant: "I don't need a life coach I need a computer that don't care about my feelings."

The reports that followed were flat and plain and true. That's the same standard the reader holds itself to on your pages: it says what it found, not what it thinks will land easiest with you. A note that's been rounded off to spare your mood already isn't a note.

Honest and plain, even when it stings a little, still beats comfortable. More at kaizenrw.com.
