There's a $35 million restaurant development coming to the Plaza

It's called Cocina 47, at 604 W. 47th St. The first announced tenant is V Modern Italian.

That one comes from Fast Fine Restaurant Group, which runs places in Nashville, Charleston, Tampa, Madrid and Stockholm. The concept is from Michelin-starred chef Stefano Ciotti. House-made pastas, Italian aperitifs, European wine list.

Opening is planned for late 2026 or early 2027. Nothing is happening on that corner this year.

Mixed feelings on this one. The Plaza has been losing tenants for a while. A $35 million project is a real vote of confidence.

On the other hand, an international restaurant group opening a DJ-dinner concept isn't what most people mean when they say the Plaza needs help.
