Looking for a physical gift that feels personal? Custom building blocks (the non-official sets) are such a cute way to "build" a memory while you’re apart.

If you’re thinking about ordering a set of "mini-mes" or a brick portrait, here’s a quick guide to getting it right!

**1. Choose Your Style**

There are three main types of custom sets you can find online:

\- The "Brick-Me" Figures: These are small characters that look like you. Perfect for a desk or nightstand.

\- The Photo-to-Brick Mosaic: These are flat "paintings" made of tiny studs. They look very aesthetic and high-end when framed.

\- The 3D Scene: Some shops allow you to send a photo of a specific place (like where you first met) and they’ll design a mini 3D building.

**2. Photo Quality is Important**

Most of these services use AI or designers to map your face onto the blocks. For the best result:

\- Use a clear, front-facing photo with good lighting.

\- Avoid busy backgrounds.

\- If you're doing a couple's figure, make sure your hair colors/styles are distinct so the artist can capture them!

**3. Shipping to your Partner’s Address**

Since we're LDR, shipping is the most important part.

\- Direct to them: If you’re ordering from a site like BrickifyMe or Brick-You, check if they have local warehouses in your partner's country to save on customs fees.

\- The Surprise Element: Some sites allow you to hide the "final image" on the box so your partner doesn't know what they’re building until the last piece is snapped in!

**4. Where to Look?**

While I can't put links, you can search for terms like "Personalized Brick Figures" or "Custom Building Block Portrait" on Etsy or specialized sites. Just be sure to read the reviews, you want the bricks to actually stay together!

🧱 *Pro-tip: If you both buy the same set, you can get on a videos call and build them together for a "Lego Date Night"* 🍷

Has anyone else done this? Would love to see your builds in the comments! 👇
