Bilateral Mastectomy Questions

First, so glad I found this group on Reddit. Wish I thought to look sooner. I’d love any advice I can get. My mother just had her bilateral mastectomy on the 14th. She’s now home recovering, and I am her primary caregiver during this time.

1). Is it normal for her to feel stinging in one of her drain sites? 2). She’s in a lot of pain and the medication seems to wear off way too soon (like 3-4 hours into her dose). She has an every 6 hour pain med and an every 8 hour muscle relaxer, along with 3x a day antibiotic. 3). One of her drains continues to be red in color unlike the others that are orange/yellow. This concerns me. 4). STRIPPING! This makes me so nervous to do because I’m scared of causing her pain and pulling out the tube! Eeek! 5). For the caregivers: How do y’all balance your caregiving and mental health. Mine has plummeted since undertaking her care, and I am so tired and exhausted.
