5 tiny EMR/documentation habits people mentioned that I am stealing
I have been collecting little things people do different that save time in documentation. None of these are earth-shattering, which is sort of the point.
- Write the assessment/plan first, while it is fresh, fill in the rest
- Having 2-3 go-to phrases saved as a text expansion instead of retyping them.
- Instead of jumping around, closing out one note totally before opening the next,
- 10 min dedicated block between patients just to catch up, not to squeeze it in breaks
- Turning off non-critical alerts during charting blocks
Someone else doing something like this that is not on this list? Trying to grow this.
