Unable to fully sync across devices?

I play MM on my phone and iPad, usually I just have to update the cloud save file and it'll be the same on both devices. However this weekend, I've tried to do it multiple times but when I go into the event, it has me starting over. Everything else is the same, gems, levels, garden. Just the event won't sync. Has this happened to anyone else?
