When you check your birth chart for marriage, you may find a difficult 7th house, a weak 7th lord, or a Venus that does not look very strong.

And you may instantly think, ‘My relationship will be difficult.’

Don’t decide so fast.

In Vedic astrology, I always want to check the aspects before making that conclusion.

A planet can sit in a difficult position and still receive support from another planet. That support can change how the planet gives its results.

Take the 7th house. Suppose you have a difficult planet sitting there. Now check, if Jupiter aspects the 7th house.

Jupiter’s aspect can bring wisdom, patience and a better ability to handle differences. The problem may still exist, but you can handle it much better.

The same applies to the 7th lord.

Suppose your 7th lord sits in a difficult house. Don’t stop there. Check which planets aspect it.

A strong Jupiter aspect can give guidance and maturity. A strong Venus influence can support affection and bonding. Even when the relationship faces problems, these influences can help you find a way through them.

I also want you to look beyond the 7th house.

* Check the 2nd house because it shows family life after marriage.
* Check the 5th house because it shows love and emotional connection.
* Check the 8th house because marriage also needs the ability to handle intimacy, shared responsibilities and difficult phases.

Then check the 11th house because it shows fulfilment and whether the relationship gives you what you hoped for.

Now look at their lords and their aspects. This is where a chart can surprise you.

You may have a weak 7th lord, but a strong benefic aspect protects it.

You may have problems in the 7th house, but a strong 2nd and 11th house support the marriage.

You may have challenges in D1, but a much stronger Navamsa can show better results with maturity and time.

So when you see one difficult placement in your marriage chart, don’t start worrying immediately.

Question yourself, ‘Who is supporting this planet?’

Because sometimes the problem is clearly visible in the chart, but so is the strength to overcome it.

A difficult placement can SHOW what you have to work on. A good aspect can show the help you get while working through it.

And this is where astrology becomes much more interesting than simply calling a planet ‘good’ or ‘bad’.
