In the market for a monitor!

I'm looking for a smaller species of monitor that doesn't mind being handled. I know most will say Ackies or Savs are a good choice; but it is really hard to come by Ackies in my area and I'm not completely sold on getting a Sav. What do you guys think would be a good option? Yes I've done a lot of research, and I am not an inexperienced reptile keeper. I just would really like to read some personal experiences and thoughts.
