Not how I expected to feel

Here are my stats: 50F 5’2” SW: 165 lbs. CW: 115 lbs

I started MJ at the end of August and have lost 50 lbs. I went from a size 10 to a size 2, and even those are getting big. I haven’t been this small since high school and my AIC is 5.0. I’m on 5 mg and the side effects are bad, but tolerable.

So why am I not happier? Everyone tells me how great I look and I’m getting a lot of attention. Logically, I know that I look better and am much healthier. But I don’t feel like me. That person looking back at me in the mirror is like a stranger.

Was I really THAT bad before? Were people concerned about my weight or talking about it behind my back? I knew I was overweight, but I really never considered that it affected how people saw/treated me.

I expected to be over the moon excited about my weight loss, but I don’t feel like that at all. I don’t know who I am anymore. I have no idea how to react to the this new body of mine.

Does anyone else feel like this? How did you start to recognize yourself again and learn to be comfortable in your new, smaller body?

Thank you!
