To those with npd, how do you have healthy relationships? Is it possible naturally?
This isn't an attack or me trying to assume it is an abusive disorder. I know that disorders don't make someone abusive but the person themselves. I have bpd so I also deal with stigma of abuse but it's a lot less than npd. The term narcissist is thrown around a lot even in contexts it shouldn't. It's a complex and misunderstood disorder due to trauma. Say it's a spectrum, how can someone high on it have a healthy relationship?
For example my ex was a narcissist. He thought he was above everyone. He would use people for his own gain. Had anger issues. Any insecurity he had, he'd get defensive and say he isn't insecure and verbally abuse me. He was extremely jealous and controlling. He always was entitled to anything and anyone told him no he'd abuse them. Among other things. Even as a defense mechanism it's toxic and tried helping him for 3 years
So with feelings of you being special or above others, not willing to admit insecurities or deal with them healthily, having anger issues, issues with jealousy, Need for control and such. How can you have a healthy relationship?
Not including those who are seeking help of course I genuinely want to learn more but from those who have the disorder, not those who may have bad experiences
