A weird scenario I have featuring Ilia

Neptune being hesitant about befriending Ilia after learning she nearly killed Sun, and even more hesitant after becoming super embarrassed when he learns she's a lesbian.

It takes a while, but Neptune and Ilia do become friends. Ilia's just kinda chill about the whole flirting thing; she was weirded out at first but did quickly realize that he didn't know. Also that he only went to Ilia so that he could let Sun and Blake have their moment together.

And, eventually, he also tells her that the person he truly likes is Weiss, but he's too much of a nervous wreck to go talk to Weiss again as he was too afraid that she was disinterested in him- the reason he didn't interact with her at the Argus station. Although he did take Jaune's advice at the dance to heart, he still has trouble getting over his insecurities.

Ilia decides to help him out and be his wingman, giving him advice on how to talk to Weiss. It takes a while for him, but it does help him try to develop a meaningful relationship with Weiss.

Neptune also soon learns that Ilia likes that bunny girl she saved in V5, and decides to give her tips for Ilia to hook up with her. Which of course turns out successful soon.
