I'm making the correct choice, right?

I'm about to get my 100th piece of cloth and craft the Guild Banner. However, the cloth is also the only material I need to finish the Airship. It's just such a mental anguish to be so close to finally unlocking airship and opening up the game more, only to just drop my resource to 0. For reference, I'm at Caravan Lvl 3 but Outpost is only Lvl 1, with about 2k stones left until I can upgrade.
