Didn't want to limit Numisma's identification feature to only coins people physically own and can photograph, so there's a browsable reference catalog built into the scanner screen — things like a Roman Aureus, a Peace Silver Dollar (High Relief), and a handful of other historically significant pieces, each with the same AI-written numismatic breakdown (metal composition, era, mint details, historical context, and typical value range) you'd get from scanning your own coin.

The idea came from noticing how much friction there is in just learning coin identification basics before you own anything worth photographing — most beginner resources assume you already know terminology like 'obverse,' 'reeded edge,' or 'mint mark,' and jump straight into cataloging specific years and varieties. Being able to browse a handful of famous, historically important coins with plain-language AI explanations is a much gentler on-ramp, and it's also just useful as a quick reference if you're trying to identify something you saw in an auction listing or a museum case rather than something in your own hand.

It's a small feature relative to the actual scan-your-own-coin flow, but it's turned out to be one of the more used parts of the app for exactly that 'learning before collecting' use case.
