I was in love with someone who doesn’t know I exist
I never told anyone this, but for months, maybe even years, I had feelings for someone who didn’t even notice me. Every time I saw them, my heart would race, and I would imagine moments that would never happen. I know it’s probably silly to feel so strongly for someone who isn’t aware of me, but I can’t help it. Sometimes I catch myself thinking about what it would be like if they knew me, if we could talk and laugh like friends, or maybe even more. I replay tiny interactions in my head, analyze every word they’ve said, and dream about conversations that will never happen. It’s exhausting and makes me feel invisible in the worst way, even when I’m surrounded by people who care about me. I’ve tried to distract myself, focus on work, hobbies, and friends, but my mind keeps wandering back to them. Part of me knows I need to let go, but another part clings to the hope of just being noticed, of just being important to them in some small way. Sharing this here feels like a small relief like letting a heavy secret out into the world.
