The five games released between 1998 and 2006 are all set during [World War II](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II) and follow the adventures of a fictional [Allied](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allies_of_World_War_II) [commando](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commandos_(United_Kingdom)) unit. Each mission is loosely based on historical events during World War II to carry the plot. The series was developed by the Spanish developer [Pyro Studios](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyro_Studios) and published by [Eidos Interactive](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eidos_Interactive).
