My dog has been growling and barking at nothings and it’s making me nervous.

My dog (m5) has been growling every morning and afternoon at nothing. Not a huge believer in the paranormal but do you think it’s paranormal. It’s at the same spot. Then after he just stares at that spot. It’s always by the bathroom hallway to the front door. Sometimes he will whine by that area as if he’s being hurt. What do you think?
