How do you support yourself working as a Peer Support?

Hello. I'm currently waiting to here back about Peer Support certification training. So far, I'm still being considered but things are on hold due to the virus.

One thing that gives me pause is: how do you support yourself working in this field? Most jobs I see are $12 - $14 hour, plus you need a car. I live in Southeastern Pennsylvania, where the cost of living is pretty high.

I'm not in this field for the money, obviously, but I also want to move out of my parent's house eventually. I'd be all in on Peer Support despite not seeing how I can support myself and live on my own while working.
