Perenne Note 1.26 - Page colors, a smarter lasso, and a fountain pen fix

Announcement

Version 1.26 is out. Three main changes, all from feedback.

**Page colors**

Give any page its own color - left page, right page, both, or the whole notebook at once. There is a free color picker too, so you are not stuck with presets, and it works on the desk background as well.

**A smarter lasso**

There is a Duplicate button now, and anything you paste or duplicate stays selected, so you can move it and resize it straight away, then tap away to set it down. The selection outline also hugs the exact shape of what you picked, with an animated dotted contour instead of a plain rectangle. On iPads that support Apple Pencil hover, the selection menu highlights under the Pencil before you tap.

**Fountain pen, fixed**

Thick calligraphic strokes used to lose part of their body the moment you lifted the Pencil. That is fixed, so what you see while writing is what stays on the page.

**Also in this release**

Image rotation got a smoother handle with magnetic snap at 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees. Dark mode was cleaned up across settings and the toolbar menus. Plus a long list of smaller fixes throughout the app.

**Since then: 1.26.1 and 1.26.2**

Perenne now asks how you write. The first time you open a notebook you choose Apple Pencil or fingers, and the app sets itself up for you - with the Pencil, your finger turns the pages, like a real notebook. You can change it anytime in Settings. The welcome tour is also clearer about what is free: the first 6 pages of every notebook, with no time limit. 1.26.2 is stability only - a launch crash on some iPads, a rare crash while browsing notebook covers, and more reliable saving when you leave the app.

If you run into anything odd after updating, report it here with your iPad model and iPadOS version and I will take a look. Feature requests are welcome in the comments too. This thread will be replaced when the next version ships, but nothing gets lost.
