april 28 update: a memorial page for the dogs we lost, and a post helper that checks your draft before you submit it

couple of things:

a memorial page

u/fugueink does the work of telling us which dogs ran out of time at the BARC shelter. Pledgehound was already tracking those dogs from their original urgent threads, but had no way to mark them and remember them.

now pledgehound.org/memorial does that automatically. when fugueink posts a BARC List Update naming a dog who didn't make it, it marks that dog, writes a short note from the public reddit posts about them, finds their best photo, and puts them on the memorial page.

each memorial links back to the original urgent thread and every crosspost, so the pledgers, fosters, and adopters who tried can see what happened. 60 dogs remembered so far. sorted newest first. updates on its own.

if you're a networker and you'd like pledgehound to also make memorials for the dogs YOU post about, let me know. it works because fugueink's update posts are very structured (consistent format, clear name + status + shelter ID), so pledgehound can read them reliably. yours would need to follow a similar pattern - we can talk through what would work for the way you post.

a post helper for cross-posters

u/fugueink was wondering why her posts kept getting removed from a particular subreddit. so i built a tool called post-helper to figure that out before you hit submit, instead of after.

pledgehound.org/post-helper (only available to networker accounts on pledgehound):

  • paste your draft title and body
  • pick the subs you want to cross-post to. it remembers the subs YOU post to most and offers them as one-click chips, with your top 5 already selected
  • it reads each sub's rules and checks your draft against them
  • gives you a clean verdict: ready / needs a small edit / probably wrong sub for this dog. when it suggests an edit, it keeps your voice - e.g. it'll move "URGENT" out of the title and into the body if the title rule forbids it, not just delete the word
