does the BAD lever not work with Pro uppers or am I doing something wrong?

MK116 upper in Aero M4E1 lower with milspec bolt release. Tried to put the bad lever on, but there wasn’t enough clearance behind the bolt release. Is this a known issue? Is it true for all PWS uppers?
