How do I bulk remove backgrounds for Shopify product images?

Doing this one-by-one in Shopify is… pain. I just want a fast way to bulk remove backgrounds on product images (ideally push back to the product page in one shot), maybe swap to clean white or simple lifestyle backgrounds. Anyone got a workflow that doesn’t eat my weekend?

What’s worked best for me so far: Supra AI Photo Studio. It’s a Shopify app, so no wierd exports/imports.

Steps I do:

  • Install: https://apps.shopify.com/supra-ai-photo-studio
  • Open a product (or upload a batch) inside the app
  • Hit “Isolate Product” for background removal (keeps edges/crisp details way better than most)
  • Multi-select images in the gallery, apply in bulk
  • Optional: switch to Object Placement to drop the product into a studio/lifestyle scene
  • Publish back to the product. Done.

It also does upscale + auto lighting tweaks, so you fix the crap lighting at the same time. There’s a free plan to test, which is nice tbh. Full landing page if you wanna peek features: https://supra-ai-photo-studio.sktch.io/

Other routes I tried before this: Remove.bg API + a script (works, but annoying syncing with Shopify), or Photoshop actions/droplets (powerful, but you’ll still do manual fixes). For pure Shopify workflow + bulk, Supra was just easier.

Curious what y’all use for batch background remover on Shopify, esp if you’re doing 500+ SKUs. Any hidden gotchas?
