On My 12th Day in a Row Astral Projecting—Here’s What’s Working

Back on my third day of a streak, I thought: No way. Before that, I used to have 2 to 5 projections a week. The longest streak I had ever managed was just 2 days.

On my fourth day, I figured maybe I just got lucky. On the fifth day, I thought: Okay, this isn’t luck. By the sixth day, I was sure.

I started seeking out communities—anyone or anywhere I could talk about it. I was both excited and full of questions. That’s when I began posting on r/AstralProjection. On my sixth day in a row, I made a post out of sheer excitement, and it literally broke records. As of now, it has more than 70,000 views, 300+ upvotes, and hundreds of comments.

I made sure to respond to everyone in the comments. People were super engaging, and it felt great. But when I tried posting on r/HowToLucidDream, my post got deleted twice. I guess it was seen as too controversial—or maybe just too unbelievable.

So what did I say? Why did I suddenly start having these consistent streaks?

Cigarettes.

I use the WBTB (Wake Back To Bed) method—it works like magic. I don’t meditate or visualize regularly, though sometimes I naturally think about my journeys, which might count as visualization in a way. But mainly, it’s just WBTB and intention.

That alone had gotten me to 2 to 5 projections a week. But one night, I decided to have a cigarette during WBTB. That night, I had three projections.

That’s when I knew—it was the cigarettes. On the third day of my streak, I literally said: “Oh man, it’s the cigarettes.”

Now I’m approaching my 12th day. It’s 3:45 AM as I write this. I’m up for WBTB, having two cigarettes, fully confident I’ll AP tonight.

This post assumes you know what WBTB means. If you’re a non-smoker, try coffee or nicotine gum—I haven’t tested those myself, but if they work for you, share your streaks here.

Now you know.
