The relationship between internal fans thickness and ACH (Air Changes per Hour)

Fan thickness is one of those details people rarely consider when comparing air purifiers, but it can have a real effect on airflow.

A thicker fan can move air more efficiently in some designs because the blades have more area to interact with the air. But thickness alone doesn't guarantee higher ACH. Blade geometry, motor speed, housing clearance, filter resistance, and static pressure all matter.

I’ve seen customers focus heavily on the advertised CADR while overlooking how the fan actually produces that airflow. A powerful motor paired with a poorly matched fan and restrictive filter can perform worse than a more modest system that is properly engineered.

The practical lesson: don’t judge a purifier by fan thickness alone. Judge how the entire fan, motor, filter, and airflow path work together to deliver sustained airflow. That’s what ultimately determines your real-world ACH.
