The RAD Apparatus is a **complete ergonomic workstation** designed around coordinated movement rather than fixed posture. Instead of adjusting a chair, desk, and monitor independently, the entire system is built to move together as one structure.

# Key Design Principles

**Coordinated Angles Across the Body**

* Seat, back support, head support, arm support, leg support, foot support, and monitor position are mechanically linked.
* When the seating angle changes, these elements move together to maintain relative alignment.
* This helps distribute load across multiple contact points rather than concentrating it in one area.

**Reclined and Upright Work Support**

* The system supports upright, semi-reclined, and reclined working positions.
* Reclining shifts load away from a single vertical axis and spreads it across the back, pelvis, and legs.
* This reduces the need to constantly “hold” posture during long sessions.

# Vertebrae-Based Length & Height Adjustment

Unlike traditional chairs that rely primarily on seat height, the RAD Apparatus uses **structural vertebrae modules** that move along the main tubular frame.

**What the vertebrae do:**

* Act as load-bearing articulation points
* Serve as adjustable anchors for the seat, back, arm, and leg supports
* Allow the effective length of the workstation to change, not just the seat height

**Why this matters:**

* Users of different heights can maintain similar joint relationships instead of compromising posture to reach the desk or screen.
* Adjusting the vertebrae changes the spacing between support points, helping avoid over-flexion or compression in the hips, knees, shoulders, and arms.
* This reduces the need for extreme arm reaches, excessive knee bend, or awkward foot placement.

# Workstation & Cable Integration

* An integrated monitor boom maintains consistent screen positioning relative to the user as posture changes.
* Adjustable desk trays support both upright and reclined input without wrist overextension.
* Open internal cable channels route wires inside the frame, preventing tugging or interference during movement.

The RAD Apparatus is informed by established ergonomic principles, including ISO 9241 workstation guidelines, and is designed to **reduce discomfort caused by static positioning, poor load distribution, and fragmented workstations** by supporting movement and adjustability as a system.

I hope this helps people understand why we're so excited to be launching soon!
