Real estate agents: what was the moment you knew it was time to change brokerages?

Most agents do not wake up one day and randomly decide to switch brokerages.

Usually there is a moment.

Maybe it was:

• A commission check where you finally calculated how much you were paying your brokerage

• A transaction where you needed support and couldn’t reach anyone

• Realizing you had outgrown the training you originally needed

• Wanting better technology or systems

• Looking for a different culture

• Wanting more leadership opportunities

• Feeling like your goals changed

The interesting thing about real estate is that the brokerage you need in year 1 might not be the brokerage you need in year 10.

Some agents need structure, coaching, and accountability.

Some agents need more freedom and better economics.

Some agents want to build teams or leadership opportunities.

There is no universal “best brokerage” because every agent’s business looks different.

For those who have switched companies:

What was the moment you realized it was time?

And looking back, what do you wish you would have considered before making the move?
