Hanging over a steep bluff where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean, the famous tropical hideaway known as El Conquistador appears out of nowhere. It was difficult to keep my jaw from dropping as I leaned over the marble entrance's balcony to take in the panoramic ocean views.
