How hot do Aegir/Vidar actually run? I'm tired of shitty speaker amps.
I have a Magni/Modi hooked up to a scrappy DTA-120 for some basic bookshelf speakers. I had the DTA for a few years before the left speaker developed a noticeable dip in volume. (I measured this, and the graph showed a noticeable dip.) Sent it back under warranty and got upgraded to a new DTA-120BT2. This one has issues with sometimes taking some jiggling of wires to get sound out of it (maybe once a week?) instead of just buzzing at me.
But, I can't justify a Vidar/Aegir in the cubbies in my desk if I can cook an egg on it. The DTA-120 doesn't get that hot and although its 120 watt rating is probably a lie, it never gets more than a little warm.
