Simplii Visa Missing Transactions

Rant time. (There was a post about this here, but it's been archived, so I can't respond to it.)

Basically, the list of transactions for your Simplii Visa may or may not be accurate. The summary at the top of the page probably is, but the list of individual transactions won't necessarily match what the summary at the top shows. It can change day to day - sometimes it's fine, sometimes no. Mine's been inaccurate for the past three days, after being correct for four days).

e.g., Today, the summary at the top of my account says what my last payment was, but that payment isn't showing in the list of transactions. If you call Simplii, the phone support folks CAN see the transactions, but for some reason (and I'll keep my conspiracy theories to myself), Simplii has decided not to show that to their customers.

So no, it's not you, and it's not about what is or isn't pending, and it's not a Visa thing, since it happens with the CIBC Costco MasterCard as well (ask me how I know), and it's not a "credit card thing," since it's not a problem with Tangerine's MasterCard (ask me how I know). This is, at least, a CIBC issue (maybe other banks as well, but I don't have any other firsthand knowledge).

I'm going to ring Simplii again and see if I can get them to formally acknowledge the problem, even if they're not going to do anything about it, but yeah, if you're seeing weird things with your Visa, don't think it's you, and don't let any well meaning-but-unhelpful people dismiss your concerns as being down to you "not getting how credit cards work."
