The Sunrise Reaping was an absolute gem, and I’m so glad Suzanne Collins decided to bring this story to life. As a fan of The Hunger Games series, I was thrilled to dive into Haymitch Abernathy’s past, especially to get a detailed and emotional glimpse of his Games. The plot was engaging, and I appreciated the way Collins wove in characters from both the prequel and sequels, creating a rich, interconnected world that added depth to the overall story.

One of the standout features of the book was the exploration of Haymitch’s traumatic experiences. It was heartbreaking to see how much he endured, and Collins did an exceptional job of illustrating his psychological scars. The power of propaganda is a theme that is not only central to the book but also relevant in today’s world, making it feel both timeless and timely.

I was also pleasantly surprised by how simple and straightforward the book was—yet it still packed a punch emotionally. I couldn’t help but think of the potential for more books focusing on other tributes, like Joanna, Mags, and Annie. There’s so much untapped story material there, and I really hope Collins considers exploring their backstories in future novels.

For anyone looking to get the most out of this book, I highly recommend listening to the audiobook while reading along. It really brought the story to life for me and enhanced the experience. Overall, The Sunrise Reaping is a must-read for fans of the series, and I think it will resonate with both new and old readers alike. Highly recommended!
