QCOM’s recent dip: Market reality check, or a solid entry point?
Hey y'all, Was just checking the QCOM chart on BYDFi, and man, it caught a massive beating yesterday, dragging AMD and Intel down with it. Feels like the whole "AI hype train" just got a harsh reality check. If you actually look under the hood of their last earnings report, a huge chunk of that net income was just a one-time $5.7B tax loophole magic trick, not actual organic chip sales. Strip that away, and the multiplier looks pretty ugly—especially since smartphone sales are still stuck in the mud and Apple is still trying to ditch them down the road. Don’t get me wrong, their long-term bets on 2nm tech and edge AI still sound sexy. But the days of just screaming "AI" to pump a stock 20% out of nowhere might be officially dead. Wall Street wants to see the receipts now, not just fancy tech roadmaps. We’re bouncing around the $215 mark right now. What’s the play here? Catching the falling knife? Is this just a classic shakeout of paper hands before it moons? Sitting on your hands? Waiting for macro noise and the Fed to drag this down to $210 or lower? Let me know if you're buying the dip or staying far away.
