**MasterChef The Professionals 2026 Episode 16 – The Semi-Final Changes Everything**

I just finished reading a full breakdown of episode 16, which marks the start of the semi-final stage of MasterChef The Professionals 2026.

Only eight chefs remain, and the format becomes significantly tougher. The episode is built around three distinct challenges:

• A technical Skills Test set by Marcus Wareing
• A Knockout round where chefs cook directly against another competitor
• Monica Galetti’s Invention Test, which pushes creativity and flavour logic

What’s interesting is how the challenges isolate different aspects of professional cooking. The Skills Test removes creativity entirely and focuses purely on execution. The Knockout round introduces psychological pressure because chefs can literally see their opponent cooking beside them. Then the Invention Test asks whether the chef can build a coherent dish concept from limited ingredients.

By the end of the episode, two chefs are eliminated and only six move forward toward the finals.

If anyone wants a detailed recap and analysis of the episode, this article covers it well:
