How long do you leave your pet alone at home?

Me and my partner are both very busy today. Usually we alternate who stays with pets but we both have things on this afternoon (I have a meeting, she has the hairdressers) and this evening we are planning on going to an event in a church, she is heading over to the church straight after her hairdresser appointment and I’ll be joining later but we won’t have time to go home and check on the pets. We will be out of the house from about 2pm to 9-9.30pm. We have a dog and cat. Will they be ok for this length of time? This isn’t a regular occurrence btw, my girlfriend works from home and is usually with them all day/night.
