This community is part of the Unsafe at Night campaign. It focuses on after dark safety concerns around Monash Malaysia and nearby Sunway areas, especially issues such as poor lighting, weak pedestrian access, isolated waiting areas, unclear transport connections, and limited visible support.

Our campaign aims to turn repeated student concerns into visible, route based evidence. Students can use this subreddit to discuss unsafe routes, support repeated concerns, report specific issues through the QR form, and follow updates through the Route Safety Scorecard, WalkBuddy, and the Improvement Tracker.

How this community works:

This pinned post introduces the campaign, explains how students can participate, and sets basic rules for safe discussion.

1. Weekly Student Opinion Collection

Use the weekly discussion post to share which routes feel unsafe after evening classes. You can mention the route area, approximate time, and main issue.

Share your experience in a general way. Do not post exact live locations, phone numbers, private schedules, or personal routines.

1. Evidence Review

Student comments and QR form reports will be reviewed to identify repeated concerns. Upvotes are treated as visibility signals, not as objective proof that one route is the most dangerous.

Repeated route concerns will be organised into categories such as lighting, sidewalk access, transport gaps, CCTV gaps, emergency access, and isolated waiting areas.

WalkBuddy provides temporary support for students who feel uncomfortable walking alone after evening classes. It does not replace long term route improvement.

The tracker shows what happens after concerns are reported, including whether an issue is Reported, Submitted for follow up, In progress, or Not started.

When should you use the QR reporting form?

Use the QR form when you clearly know which route, facility, or safety issue needs improvement. This helps the campaign collect more structured route based evidence.

4. Do not blame students for feeling unsafe.
5. Do not identify other students without permission.
6. Do not use this subreddit to spread rumours or target individuals.
