How to tell if a Temu coupon code is real or fake (I check them daily)
Mod here. Most Temu codes floating around are expired or fake, so here is a simple, honest way to check any code yourself before you trust it. No links, just what actually works.
Red flags that a code is fake or a trap:
- "100% off" or "everything free." Temu's real offers are a coupon bundle plus a percentage off, never a free cart.
- You have to click "reveal code" through pop-ups and redirects. A real code is just plain text you can read and type.
- Fake trust badges like "verified by 7,400 members" or "working 60 days straight." Specific numbers you cannot check are usually invented.
- Countdown timers and "only 100 left." A working code does not vanish in ten minutes.
- It asks for your email, a download, or an app install to "unlock." You never need that for a Temu code.
How to test any code in about 10 seconds:
- Open the Temu app.
- Type the code in the search bar on the home screen, not only the checkout coupon field.
- See if the coupon bundle attaches to your account.
- Add an item and check if the discount applies at checkout. If nothing happens, the code is dead. No risk, no harm.
One honest note: most codes are new-user only, so existing accounts often get nothing. A few referral codes also work for existing users when entered in the app search bar. Always test before you trust.
If a code works for you, drop it in the comments as plain text (no links, per the rules) so others can test it too. Keeping this sub honest is the whole point.
