Hey everyone,

With the rapid shift toward AI search and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), I’ve been getting a ton of questions about how brands can leverage Reddit to show up in LLM results. There is a lot of misinformation out there right now, so let’s cut through the noise. Here is the reality of how GEO works with Reddit, and how you can actually drive results for your business.

1. The Good News

* **AI relies on human authenticity:** LLMs include Reddit's authentic conversations because human perspective is required for the most relevant results and recommendations.
* **Search behavior is evolving:** LLMs are part of the next arc of search, including moving search from a primarily bottom-of-the-funnel activity to now part of discovery.
* **Reddit is the ultimate verification engine:** People come to Reddit with intent for discovery, verification, and buyer confidence. In fact, nearly 9 in 10 redditors verify AI product recommendations with real people on Reddit before they buy. LLMs are making authentic human conversation more valuable, not less.

2. The Bad News

* **There are no guarantees:** No one can guarantee what appears in an LLM response. They are dynamically generated with each query and change consistently. What gets cited today may not get cited tomorrow.
* **Beware of false promises:** We'd caution against working with any agency that guarantees placement in AI results. We do not promise that using Reddit will get a brand mentioned in AI-generated answers, because we don't control what AI tools say.
* **Do not try to "game" the system:** If an agency is saying they can get you more upvotes and comments on Reddit to boost your visibility, we would not recommend that as it breaks Reddit platform policies. We actively monitor and ban bad actors that attempt to manipulate Reddit.

3. How I Can Help You (And Real Solutions)

You can't control what people say, but authentic conversation is what is appreciated by LLMs. What we can do is help you show up at scale and influence those authentic conversations.

Here is the three-part framework we use to make that happen:

* **Listen:** Find the communities that influence your audience. For most brands, the organic strategy should be to "listen (lurk and learn)".
* **Activate:** Set up your Reddit business profile. You can use this space to post answers to redditors' questions about your products or industry, or crosspost redditor reviews about you.
* **Scale (The real driver of outcomes):** The best way to get scaled business outcomes is using our marketing platform (ads). Ads are how you influence the people having those conversations at scale. Unlike traditional social media, you do not need to "build a following" first; Reddit was built for individual people first, and our advertising tools are designed to deliver results without an organic presence.

I am always here to answer your questions! Please just PM me if you want a discovery meeting to find out exactly how Reddit can work for your business.
