This Is A Three Patch Problem

-- since we're Sherlocking the shite out of this, I took one of Cumberbatch's lines from the series. In that scene he had been reposing in a darkened room, deep in thought. Let's get all of our biggest issues with this tragic case out for examination. I'll start:

  1. Why did experienced investigators Coder & Baumhover (TLee was a rookie striver so of course she tagged along) go see CW unannounced in Wisconsin? The case was closed at that point. Was it to see what CW might be planning in terms of an appeal because the investigators knew they railroaded him? Is Baumhover's PTSD because of the details of this specific case, or also related to said railroading? There were several gruesome murders during his tenure as head/lead detective. Did Coder take leave as well?

  2. Why tf didn't Mommy Onerati rush to Colorado the second she heard her girls were unaccounted for? If I couldn't afford conventional travel and had no one left to sponge off of, I would ride my bike until the wheels fell off, then crawl the rest of the way to be sure my only daughter and grandbabies were ok.

  3. Did NK lie like a rug out of sheer embarrassment that the world would soon know no one ever went down on her until she was almost thirty, or to hide something else? She didn't have to talk to the police at all. Why out herself for hours and hours the way she did?

3a. Everyone lied to the investigators except darling, early riser Betty. Is that why it was so important to avoid a trial, there were no credible witnesses? At least no one who had anything nice to say about SW or anything bad about CW.
