The RS-28 Sarmat, nicknamed "Satan II," is Russia's new super-heavy, liquid-fueled, silo-based Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) designed to replace the older R-36M (Last Image).
You may have seen the ICBM on a truck and wondered, I thought you said it's a silo-based ICBM. It is!

You will see it on a truck for the following reasons:
**Transportation:** The massive missile, which is over 35 meters (115 feet) long and weighs over 208 metric tons, needs a specialized heavy-duty transport vehicle to move it from the factory (such as KrasMash) to its operational base and then to the specific silo launch facility.
**Maintenance and Assembly:** Trucks and specialized transport erector launchers (TELs) are used to move missiles during assembly, maintenance, or test preparations before they are lowered into their permanent, hardened underground silos**.**
**Public Display and Parades:** Military powers like Russia often display their advanced weaponry on large trucks during parades or exhibitions to project military strength and act as a nuclear deterrent. These displays are a show of force, not an indication of a mobile launch capability for this specific missile system.

The Satan II uses a powerful liquid-propellant rocket engine, likely a derivative of the existing RD-274 or PUD-99, featuring a four-nozzle configuration for its first stage.
It's designed for its heavy intercontinental ballistic missile role, utilizing hypergolic fuels like UDMH and NTO for significant range. It has 3 stages.
