Self Improvement Can Be Avoidance
I was always trying to improve myself. That was never the problem.
The problem was using improvement to stay busy so I did not have to deal with what felt uncomfortable.
I focused on habits, goals, and productivity while ignoring frustration, resentment, and exhaustion.
Once I paid attention to what I was avoiding, progress became real instead of performative.
Working harder was never the answer. Paying attention was.
