What’s the best way to get a Tax File Number (TFN) as a new resident in Australia?

I’ve just moved to Australia for work and I’m trying to get everything set up properly. I know I need a Tax File Number (TFN), but I’m not sure about the easiest and most official way to apply for one.

Does anyone have experience with:

• Applying online vs in person

• How long it takes to get it

• Any tips or common mistakes to avoid
