We shipped MCP support for cTrader, and we want to talk about the actual risk before anyone gets excited
A lot of trading communities have been discussing LLMs and trading lately, and the consensus is pretty consistent: the model has no edge, it just sounds confident. People have shared real examples of AI giving completely average advice while sounding certain about it.
That risk comes mostly from AI guessing in the dark, working off whatever you typed into a chat window instead of your actual account state. So we built an MCP server that gives tools like Claude or Cursor direct read access to real data: positions, margin, candles, order history. Same model, same lack of magic prediction power, just less room to make things up.
The real risk we're worried about is you actually liking it too much and never opening the app manually again.
Where do people land on this. Read-only account access for daily checks feels reasonable to most. Interested if anyone's pushed further than that.
