I am writing to formally raise urgent concerns regarding the current state of the warehouse. The existing working conditions have reached a level of risk that is unacceptable and, in several instances, in direct breach of UK Health and Safety legislation. Specifically, I wish to draw your attention to the following hazards: • Unsafe Storage & Falling Objects: Heavy and awkward items are currently stacked above head height and in poorly accessible areas. This forces staff into unsafe ergonomic positions and creates a constant risk of stock falling. This is a breach of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (Reg 13) regarding falling objects. • Structural Failures: The roof and ceiling are in a state of significant disrepair. We have had incidents where ceiling tiles and debris have fallen and struck staff members. Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the company has a "duty of care" to provide a safe place of work; a failing structure is a clear violation of this duty. • Manual Handling Risks: The lack of organized racking forces staff to maneuver heavy loads in cramped spaces, breaching the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. • Training and Instruction: "It is also a significant concern that staff have received no formal Health and Safety or Manual Handling training. Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, the company is legally required to provide training to reduce the risk of injury. Currently, staff are expected to navigate high-risk storage and heavy loads without the necessary instruction on safe lifting techniques or equipment use."

Furthermore, I am deeply concerned that despite multiple incidents where staff have been struck by falling debris or stock, these accidents are not being documented. It has come to my attention that the site does not maintain a formal Accident Book, which is a legal requirement under the Social Security (Claims and Payments) Regulations 1979. By failing to record these "near misses" and actual injuries, the company is also unable to meet its reporting obligations under RIDDOR.

As it stands, the warehouse is an unsafe environment. I am requesting an immediate review of these conditions and a formal written response outlining the steps that will be taken to: • Repair the ceiling and roof. • Implement a safe racking and storage system. • Establish a legal Accident Book and reporting procedure. I look forward to your prompt response and a plan for immediate remedial action
