dB2 PC: Launcher broken since Q3 2025

Today I installed the PC version of dB2 to my younger brother's laptop [an HP G7 250 Core i5] The game doesn't run as smoothly as hoped, so I intended to open the Launcher tool and edit the video settings. HOWEVER. A problem has been discovered. As of around September 2025, the Launcher has been in a broken state. It crashes back to Steam after some time attempting to open, meaning modifying the controls and video settings is no longer possible.

Does anyone know who to contact, or know of a workaround? Any answer much appreciated, as this does affect users attempting to play on lower end hardware.
